In 2021, a group of residents approached the Park Board requesting improvements to the Glen Lake Skate Park. Additionally, the Parks, Open Space and Trails (POST) Plan identified the community's desire for a new or improved skate park.
The city hired Damon Farber Landscape Architects to conduct a feasibility report, which was presented to a joint meeting of the City Council and Park Board in December of 2022.
The Skate Park Feasibility Study Report recommends three sites for the skate park:
Glen Lake Activity Center site, the current location of the park.
Shady Oak Park Pavillion
Glen Lake Elementary School
