Minnetonka Budget
Preparing Minnetonka’s city budget is an eight-month process that starts with the five-year capital improvements program and wraps up with adoption of the final budget and tax levy in December. To create the budget, the city council and staff use data to ensure the budget aligns with the city’s strategic priorities. The goal is to provide innovative, responsive and quality city services while maintaining our Aaa bond rating.

Share 2024 Approved Budget on Facebook Share 2024 Approved Budget on Twitter Share 2024 Approved Budget on Linkedin Email 2024 Approved Budget linkThe Minnetonka City Council adopted the 2024 budget and set the levies to be collected at its Dec. 4, 2023, meeting. These levies are the tax levy, the Minnetonka Economic Development Authority special benefit tax levy, and the Bassett Creek Watershed Management Tax District tax levy.
The 2024 budget and levy reflect the council’s commitment to public safety by beginning the multi-year implementation of the public safety master plan. The budget also looks to invest in city infrastructure by restoring funding to the city’s capital improvement program to pre-pandemic levels.
